Marine Calcium Checker® HC Reagents (25 Tests) by Hanna Instruments is a reagent set specifically designed for use with the HI758 Marine Calcium Checker HC colorimeter. This kit includes ready-to-use, pre-measured reagents sufficient for up to 25 individual calcium tests in saltwater aquariums. Each packet is carefully formulated to ensure consistent, accurate results with every test.
Calcium is a critical parameter in reef aquariums, essential for the growth and development of hard corals, coralline algae, and other marine invertebrates. Both deficiencies and excesses in calcium levels can negatively affect the stability and health of a reef system, making regular monitoring vital for successful reefkeeping.
Using HI758U-26 Marine Calcium Checker® HC Reagents is straightforward. Begin by filling the cuvette with 1 ml of aquarium water and adding one packet of Reagent A. Top off the sample with distilled water to reach 10 ml, mix gently, and insert the cuvette into the HI758 colorimeter to zero the instrument. Then, add Reagent B (a powdered compound), mix thoroughly, and reinsert the cuvette. In just a few seconds, the digital display will show the calcium concentration in parts per million (ppm).
These reagents are designed to work seamlessly with the HI758 colorimeter, offering an accurate and reliable alternative to traditional color-based test kits. The individually sealed packets ensure precise dosing, reduce the chance of contamination, and simplify the testing process for both beginners and experienced aquarists.
With Hanna Instruments HI758U-26, users can maintain tight control over calcium levels in their saltwater tanks. This ensures optimal conditions for coral growth and overall tank stability. The convenience, accuracy, and consistency provided by this reagent kit make it an essential component of any reef aquarist’s water testing regimen.
